Finally! Fall is here. Photography opportunities are wonderful during warm weather (parks, flowers, vacations, mountains, beaches, etc.). I do look forward to new photo ops such as fall colors, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and preparing for the Christmas season. After that, maybe some white stuff (but not too much).
I really look forward to Mike King’s program on macro photography (page 3). I have enjoyed close-ups – especially flowers and maybe an occasional black widow or snake (telephoto lenses are nice). His program will be great.
This month’s issue contains the results of our September PhotoShow – sunrise and sunset photos.
I missed the September 18th meeting because I had to take a vacation and record scenery and activities in the northeast. This reminds me, I need to pull some of the photos together and send them to Len for our Christmas slideshow (page 5). Don’t wait too late to do the same if you have not done so yet.
Hope you are planning to go to the Greensboro Science Center on October 21st (page 14). I’ve been there several times (with grandchildren). We even gave my daughter and her family an annual membership to the Science Center last year. Some good stuff to do and photograph there.
Included in this issue are three tutorials:
Still looking for some “buddy” photos. My “buddies” and I have gone out together frequently this past summer and got some great photos. I think I’ll suggest to them that we go to Umstead State Park in Raleigh once the leaves turn. I haven’t been there in decades. Durant Nature Park just off I-540 northeast of Raleigh was nice two or three years ago when Bob and I went.
Enjoy our newsletter and let me know what you want to see in it.
